Eggsellent

This little get-together is becoming quite the tradition. Add some friends, a little pizza and rootbeer, and you've got yourself an Eggsellent Equinox Event!

Nick, Brielle, Brooklyn, and Brook try to steady their eggs.

Kayden, Stetson, and Avery try their hands while Gage, "The Egg Stomper" eyes his next victims.

Great job, Kayden!

Cody and Brielle find some "helpful" grooves on the wall to balance their eggs, while Gabriel, look at that face....caught in the act....he thought it was way more fun to break the eggs on the rocks than balance them!

Michael is really enjoying that lemonade. Look at all his eggs!

Brook, nice work. What a gorgeous girl!

Brooklyn, this picture makes me smile everytime!

Love those little peeps, Stet!

This girl "cracks" me up!

Squaw Peak

I love Provo Canyon. I dream of doing the half marathon there. SO BEAUTIFUL. So crisp. So many memories. We try to spend an afternoon up the canyon every trip. We decided on Squaw Peak (woop, woop) since it was FREEZING COLD, it's a quick drive, and a magnificent view.

Little Lady was not feeling so great. She opted to sleep it off in the warm van.

Mount Timpanogus.

Imagine this mountain buried in snow, softly lit by the setting sun. Now imagine being a thousand feet above floating silently in the wide open air. To your left is your sweet and sexy cowboy, and you're so in love all you can think to do is sing at the top of your lungs:

"Cowboy, take me away!
Fly this girl
as high as you can
into the wild blue.
Set me free, oh, I pray!
Closer to heaven above,
and closer to you."

(horrible video, great song)

Harvest Time in Grandpa's Garden

"Look Grandma, I have boobs." He really said it.

Grandpa and Grandma Davis' 50th Anniversary

On September 8, 2010 my parents, Philip and Patricia Davis celebrated 50 years of marriage...

Let's take a quick stroll through time. Here they are on their big day, in 1960:

Flash forward 7 kids to 1971:

1991:

It was a privilege for us siblings to plan and carry out a reception in our parents' honor. We wanted to keep the event somewhat small, keeping the guest list to under 125...until we realized that the children and grandchildren alone make 75 guests. It was so fun to track down old family friends, mission companions, foster siblings, co-workers, high school friends, anyone and everyone. I think at one point my mom said her guest list was over 600!!! We finally got it down to about 250 and settled there. It turned out to be just right.

Here is the Lady of the Evening, my mom, as beautiful as ever.

And here is my dad's reaction to her shoes....

.....which were these:

....but only for a good laugh. She attended the reception in much more elegant open-toed sling-backs, that had her feet begging for a good rub by the end of the night, as all great shoes do.

Thank you, Mom and Dad, for having the faith and courage to see each other through all these years. I can't even imagine all that you've been through together. You know one another better than anyone else in the world, and your love is still kindling. I'm so grateful to have you as parents, what wonderful lessons you have taught, and continue to teach me. Thank you for passing on a great legacy. I love you!!!
