Then we got our tickets and hung around until the conductor called out, "ALL ABOOOOOAARD!!" They really say it just like the movies, it was pretty cool.
We started out in the "closed car" which, just like it sounds, is all enclosed with bench seating and big windows. This was a first for the kids and they were completely enthralled!
After some snacks we decided to walk over to the open car. I think the whole wind in the face effect really forged the experience into the kids' memories. They were waving and yelling as we passed cars, wagging their tails like puppies in the back of a pickup on the highway.
(Warning: it's loud, turn your volume down a bit before pressing play!)
The kids loved this day and still talk about it often saying, "Mom, maybe someday can we go on a real train again? The one that has no windows, remember?"

I could take a big bite out of that baby....oops....toddler!
What a fun and memorable trip... Gage surprised me when he made the train sound.
This is so cool! We were bummed to miss Gabriels birthday so we're planning to go check out this train ride as a family. I never knew it was there before. Cute pictures!
